Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

The short version. HearthLog stores your home records on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no tracking. Cloud backup is optional, end-to-end encrypted, and only happens when you turn it on.

1. What we collect

Nothing by default. HearthLog does not require an account and does not transmit your home records to us. Everything you enter — homes, appliances, warranties, service dates, photos, costs — is stored in a local database on your device.

2. Photos and documents

If you attach a photo or a document to an appliance, it is copied into the app's private storage on your device. We never receive it.

3. Optional cloud backup

Cloud backup is a paid, opt-in feature. When you enable it:

You can delete your cloud backup at any time from inside the app.

4. Analytics

Usage analytics are off by default. If you choose to enable them, we receive anonymous, aggregated events (for example "home created", "task completed") with no personal data, no identifiers and no home content. You can turn them off again at any time.

5. Advertising and tracking

HearthLog contains no advertising, no advertising SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not sell data.

6. Children

HearthLog is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Your control over your data

8. Service providers

Cloud backup, when enabled, uses Cloudflare (storage and networking). In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details. No other third parties receive your data.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, note the change inside the app.
